Zaida is the newest member to the Pilates in the Grove family and we can’t wait for you to meet her. Zaida teaches in our Coconut Grove location on Monday at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., Thursday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and in our South Miami location on Tuesday at 9 a.m., Wednesday at noon and Friday at noon.

A: Avocado benedicts and breakfast tacos

A: Headphones and snacks
Q: If Joseph Pilates were alive today what would you ask him or have him teach you?
A: How did you come up with boomerang?
Q: What qualities do you admire in a teacher?
A: Confidence, creativity, challenge and good vibes.
Q: Top 3 places you have traveled? Top 3 places you would like to travel?
A: 1) Guatemala, Puerto Rico and Colorado 2) India, Egypt, Thailand.. everywhere!
Q: How would you describe your fashion style?
A: Depends on my mood. Boho, sporty and colorful.
Q: What are the three things you would grab in a fire?
A: Animals, people and pictures
Q: What are the top three things on your bucket list?
A: Visit all 7 continents, Wingsuit base jumping and walk while in a handstand
Q: When was your Pilates “a-ha!” moment?
A: Connecting Pilates to Physical Therapy when shadowing Alix, as well as my first couple of reformer group classes. I realized, I am going to LOVE what I do!

Q: How has Pilates changed your body? Your outlook?
A: Pilates has helped me to grow a deeper mind/body connection while strengthening me in ways that I did not know I was weak. It has opened the doors to move and teach others to move more creatively, intellectually and safely. It is a community that I am excited and proud to be a part of as a Physical Therapist and instructor!

A: Making a tasty meals with random things in my cabinet with no recipe!
Q: On any Saturday night you will most likely find me ____________.
A: Out & about or snuggled on the couch. With me, it always depends on the vibe!
Q: How would you describe your teaching style?
A: Keep the class mindful and in tune with their bodies. I try to keep a calm and relaxed aura while I’m teaching.
Q: What is the funniest thing you have ever heard in the studio?
A: Magic circles are better known as torture devices!
Q: What has been your biggest teaching blunder?
A: Instructing to have a certain spring tension, going to demonstrate the exercise and not being able to! I had not practiced in a while, and it certainly showed. Quite the humbling moment! Always practice what you preach ☺
